Bicycle Friendly Community Designation

The City of Warrenville is pro2016 Bicycle Friendly Community Sign (SW corner Butterfield and Batavia) 3 of 3ud to be recognized by the League of American Bicyclists as a bronze level “Bicycle Friendly Community”. This program provides communities with assistance and recognition for their work on behalf of bicyclists.  To obtain this award, communities document their efforts and achievements in 6 categories that improve the cycling experience:

  • Engineering: Creating safe and convenient places to ride and park
  • Education: Giving people of all ages and abilities the skills and confidence to ride
  • Encouragement: Creating a strong bike culture that welcomes and celebrates bicycling
  • Enforcement & Safety: Ensuring safe roads for all users
  • Evaluation & Planning: Planning for bicycling as a safe and viable transportation option
  • Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI)
