Overview
The Public Works Department is responsible for:
- Construction, maintenance, and repair of the City’s infrastructure and grounds/facilities (i.e., repairing a streetlight, filling a pothole, trimming a parkway tree, replacing damaged sidewalk).
- Purchasing, maintenance, and repair of City vehicles and equipment.
- Street, water, and sewer related emergency service (i.e., water main breaks).
- Updating the Capital Maintenance and Replacement Plan (CMRP) and Enterprise Maintenance and Replacement Plan (EMRP) to ensure funding is available to maintain the City’s infrastructure to acceptable standards.
Please note the Public Works Building is not open to the public.
Structure
The Public Works Director oversees the day-to-day operations of the Department. The Department has 18 full-time employees and is comprised of the following divisions:

- Fleet
- Street
- Utility
