While a sewer line is being cleaned, individuals may find "bubbling" water in or water missing from their toilets. Additionally, sink drains (P traps) may empty of water and cause an odor. These issues are temporary and do not pose a danger or indicate a malfunction. Residents need only flush the toilets and/or run water into their sinks. It is also advisable to keep the toilet lids closed to stop any water from splashing onto the floor.
To find out when sewer inspections are coming to a specific residential neighborhood, contact the Public Works Department at 630-393-9050. For Water Billing questions, call 630-393-5753.
Sump Pump Inspection Program
The Utility Division offers a complimentary sump pump inspection, to businesses, to ensure that the pump is not hooked/flowing into the City's sanitary sewer.
Water/Sewer Payments
Water/sewer payments can be made via mail, but to avoid late charges, allow 10 business days when mailing a payment to the Carol Stream lockbox. Payment is due by the 10th of each month. If a bill is not received by the middle of the month, call 630-393-5753 to avoid late charges. Failure to receive a bill does not excuse the penalty charge. Payments can also be made in the night deposit drop box at City Hall, outside the 3S258 Manning Avenue entrance, or at the Police Department.
For those residents making water/sewer payments on-line through a bank or other source, have those payments sent directly to the City of Warrenville, 3S258 Manning Avenue, Warrenville, IL 60555, and not to the Carol Stream address shown on the water/sewer bill.
If you wish to pay by phone, the automated payment center can be reached at 1-888-750-5945. You will need a copy of your bill when paying by phone so you can provide the required information.
Auto Pay Option
The City offers its residents the opportunity to have water and sewer payments automatically deducted from a bank account. This payment plan, called Auto Pay, will automatically deduct water/sewer payments from an authorized bank account on the tenth of the month. A bill will continue to be sent to the resident as a paper record of the transaction, as well as appearing on the resident's monthly bank statement. Application forms for the Auto Pay Program are available at City Hall, by calling 630-393-5753 or via the link to the right.
Sewer Inspection Program
Throughout the year, the City of Warrenville administers a Sewer Maintenance and Inspection Program. The inspection of sewers requires that specialized video equipment be used to inspect the sewer. If blockages or cracks are discovered, then obstructions are removed and/or repairs are made. Part of this work includes flushing sewers, which is now done on a daily basis. This program will help prevent sewer backups into residential properties and will also help maintain the integrity of the entire sewer network.
