National Public Works Week (May 15 through 21, 2022)
The Public Works Department plays a significant role in our daily lives, such as ensuring the roads are ready to use and water is of the highest quality and safe to drink. The department is responsible for construction, maintenance, and repair of the City’s infrastructure and grounds/facilities (i.e., repairing a streetlight, filling a pothole, trimming a parkway tree, replacing damaged sidewalk); and street, water, and sewer related emergency service (i.e., water main breaks).
