Update on Cantera Point Townhome Proposal
The developer of the proposed Cantera Point townhome development on MaeCliff Drive has requested another continuation of the public hearing following the July 10 meeting. The Plan Commission/Zoning Board of Appeals (PC/ZBA) will continue the case to its meeting on Thursday, August 21, 2025.
The developer is seeking additional time to address concerns raised by residents. They have reduced the number of townhomes proposed from 102 to 91.
At the first hearing in April, many residents attended and shared concerns about the plans. Topics raised included:
- Project density
- Increased traffic and related safety issues
- Impact on public services
- Compatibility with the surrounding neighborhood
The public is welcome to attend the August 21 meeting to share additional comments. That meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 28W701 Stafford Place.
