The City of Warrenville is developing an ADA Transition Plan to improve accessibility on public sidewalks, curb ramps, crosswalks, and transit stops. This plan will help make it easier for all residents—including those with disabilities—to safely and comfortably move through the community.
The plan includes reviewing 49 miles of sidewalk corridors, curb ramps, and a pedestrian rail crossing to identify areas that need improvement. Many parts of the public right-of-way currently have barriers that limit access for people with disabilities. Removing these barriers will benefit everyone and support equal access to jobs, education, healthcare, transit, and more.
How You Can Participate:
We’re asking residents to share their input and help identify problem areas. You can participate in several ways:
Take a short online survey to share your experiences and concerns. Take the survey
Use an interactive map to point out specific locations where improvements are needed. Update the map
Stop by upcoming public meetings and engagement opportunities:
July 2: Concert on the Commons 7:00-8:30 p.m. between the library and City Hall
July 20: Summerlakes HOA picnic
August 5: National Night Out, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Cerny Park

As part of the City’s work to improve accessibility, a team from Quality Counts is in town. They’re helping us collect important data for Warrenville’s ADA Transition Plan, which focuses on making sidewalks, curb ramps, and street crossings safer and easier to use for everyone.
- You may notice them using their phones to take photos and record conditions in the public right-of-way—this is all part of the evaluation process.
- They will collect sidewalk and curb ramp data.
- They will conduct street crossing evaluations.
They will wear safety vests and company ID and have a letter from the City.
Data collection began June 16 will continue until the end of July.
