Tribute, an
8-foot-tall, 1,322-pound steel sculpture, now has a home on the Bob Walters Commons.
This sculpture is the creation of local sculpture artist Jen Kresl of Steel Envy in Warrenville. This one-woman business has been creating one-of-a-kind metal art pieces since 2019.
The sculpture's name is ‘Tribute.’ The name of the Pegasus herself, is ‘EbE’ (pronounced as ‘E-Bee.’) EbE, if you turn it upside down, represents ‘393,’ which is the old Warrenville phone exchange.
The City purchased the sculpture under its Aesthetic Enhancement Program. Kresl worked closely with the City's Tourism and Arts Commission, which approved the final design.
After months of work, the installation took place December 22. In a little under an hour, the eye-catching public sculpture was in place and ready for the community to enjoy. Bob Walters Commons is on Manning Avenue, between City Hall and Warrenville Public Library District.
