The City will update its zoning code to attract private sector investment and provide different types of housing in key areas of the community. This includes options for middle-income households that are often overlooked.
The zoning changes will ensure new buildings and sites maintain the City's small-town feel and achieve the community’s vision for the future.
There are two main focus areas:
1.) Butterfield Road and Batavia Road
2.) Warrenville Road and Batavia Road.
- Creating walkable, vibrant, village-like centers
- Encouraging mixed-use development
- Providing a variety of housing types
