[ARCHIVED] Water Tower Renovations Underway July-September

Water tower renovations Maple Hill

The City will renovate the water tower at Country Ridge Drive/Maple Terrace through September 2023. Maguire Iron will do the work.

The work includes:

  • repairing the water tower
  • removing exterior paint
  • painting the interior and exterior of the water tower, including the new City logo

Cellular carriers built a temporary tower onsite to relocate their equipment from the water tower. Once the water tower project is complete, the temporary tower will be removed.

Painting will begin in July. A containment tent will be installed and cover the tower for most of the project. The condition of the water tower makes it necessary to remove the existing paint by sand blasting. The containment tent will keep debris and paint contained.

As with any construction project, unexpected issues can cause delays. It is the City’s goal to expedite work on this project, so the water tower can be put back into service.

Water samples will be collected and analyzed by an accredited lab before returning the water tower into service.
