[ARCHIVED] Warhol Pop Art Display Begins June 3

Pop Art Challenge promotion featuring face of Andy Warhol

“The College of
DuPage Warhol Public Pop Art Challenge: 15 Minutes of Fame,” launches June 3across DuPage County. Warrenville is one of 20 participating DuPage communities/organizations displaying notable faces in a Warhol-Style mural to tie into COD's Warhol
exhibition that runs from June 3 to September 10. 

 

Warrenville PublicLibrary will display a colorful Warhol-inspired mural that features four
notable members of our community. Join us for a ceremony to reveal the City'sPublic Pop Art Challenge faces on Saturday, June 3 at 10:00 a.m. at the
library. Light refreshments will be served.

The COD Warhol
exhibition
: “Warhol: Featuring Andy Warhol Portfolios: A Life in Pop / Worksfrom the Bank of America” will be on display at the Cleve Carney Museum of Art
and the McAninch Arts Center.

 

The exhibition willfeature 94 works from “Andy Warhol Portfolios: A Life in Pop / Works from the
Bank of America Collection” on loan through Bank of America’s Art in ourCommunities® program. There will also be over 100 works from the COD Permanent
Art Collection.


Notable works fromthe collection will include Warhol’s 1980 screen-printed portrait of Joseph
Beuys as well as his iconic $ (1983). Also included: more than 150 photographsby Warhol comprised of both black-and-white gelatin silver prints and color
Polaroid prints featuring unidentified figures and celebrities alike. Thesephotographs offer a rare and intimate glimpse into Warhol’s New York of the
