YOUR HOME:
- Lock all doors
- Keep outside lights on
- Close and lock first-floor windows
- Pick up belongings from your yard
YOUR CAR:
- Lock your car
- Remove items of value - wallets, purses, electronics, money, jewelry, sports equipment, keys, and garage door openers
PERSONAL:
- Be aware of the people around you
- Don't use items that block your hearing, such as ear buds
- Take a fully charged phone with you, but don't let it distract you
- Trust your instincts if a situation makes you uncomfortable and change direction
