[ARCHIVED] Holiday Shopping - Personal and Electronic Safety Tips

Holiday Shopping Tips (Image)

The holiday season is a good time to review your personal safety and identity security practices, which can help keep you and your identity safe and secure during the holiday season. To get you started, the Police Department has RFID protected credit card sleeves and passport covers available at both their and the Finance Department front counters during regular business hours.  There is a limit of two per person, and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.  Choose from two different credit card styles (single card sleeve and six card-pocket).

Please keep in mind that while gift cards may be part of the giving season, no legitimate business will ask you to pay for your bill or its balance through the purchase of gift cards to them.  If you suspect that you have been the victim of a identity theft or gift card scam, please dial 9-1-1 to file a police report.

Have a safe and secure holiday season!
