Due to current State of Illinois COVID-19 restrictions prohibiting large gatherings, the Police Department regretfully announces the cancellation of this year’s local National Night Out Against Crime (NNO) event. NNO takes place nationwide annually on the first Tuesday of August, but based on an earlier precautionary recommendation put forth by the National Association of Town Watch, was rescheduled to October 6th. Unfortunately with continuing COVID-19 pandemic conditions, the City’s local event has been cancelled in its entirety. After making this decision, Police Chief Turano said he is keeping hopeful and is looking forward to being part of this great community event next year!
