Utility work will begin the week of March 25 on River Road, Warrenville Road, and Batavia Road. This includes:
- extending water main north along River Road, west along Warrenville Road and connecting into the existing watermain on Batavia Road
- re-routing sanitary and water services
- replacing minor roadway curb and gutter
- installing a new 8' sidewalk along the north side of Warrenville Road
- remediating the old gas station site to residential Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) standards
- constructing a parking lot and a compensatory storage area
Background: After four years of negotiations, the City acquired the property formerly known as Pride/Phillips 66/Citgo gas station at 28W244 Warrenville Road in July 2020. The City’s ultimate goal is to replace the contaminated and dilapidated gas station with uses that would enhance, rather than detract from, the character of the Old Town historical heart of the community and attract desirable private investment into the area.
