[ARCHIVED] City Officials Urge State to Restore Local Funding

A thumbs up for state budget surplus; a thumbs down for the state keeping local money.

Have you heard about the LGDF? LGDF stands for the Local Government Distributive Fund. The state used to provide this income tax revenue to local governments. In 2011, the state made a temporary cut to LGDF. Ten years later, the cut has not been restored.

The City of Warrenville has lost out on more than $8 million from the LGDF over the past decade.

Cities, counties, and villages across the state ask Illinois lawmakers to #InvestInCommunities and restore these local funds so they can improve roadways, pay for police body cameras, and more.

Make your voice heard, and contact your state lawmakers at: http://investincommunities.org/
