The City is conducting a traffic study on several streets this week to address resident's concerns about speeding.

City Traffic Study Underway

You may notice poles or small devices on certain streets this week—they’re part of a Citywide Traffic Study being conducted by engineering consultant Kimley-Horn.

This Strategic Plan Action Item helps the City evaluate speed limits and traffic patterns on Warrenville streets.

It also supports creating a Traffic Calming Toolkit to guide how the City reviews and responds to resident concerns about speeding or traffic safety.

Data collection is happening this week on Batavia Road, Galusha Avenue, Williams Road, Melcher Avenue, Wilbur Avenue, Sanchez Drive, Branch Avenue, Warren Avenue, Mignin Avenue, Lakeview Drive, and Cherice Drive. The equipment will be removed later this week once data collection is complete.

The total project cost is $80,000, which includes both the traffic study and toolkit development.

When the results are ready, they’ll be presented at a future Committee of the Whole meeting. The City will share an update once that information is available.
