Warrenville Police Department will offer a new session of the Citizen Police Academy this fall. Apply by September 1.

Citizen Police Academy Begins in September

Ever wonder what it’s like to be behind the scenes at the Warrenville Police Department?

Join the 2025 Citizen Police Academy and find out!

Wednesdays, September 10 – November 12, 6:30–9:30 p.m.

What to expect:

✅ Learn how officers serve and protect our community

✅ See police defensive tactics in action

✅ Go on off-site tours of the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy and DuComm 9-1-1

✅ Get hands-on with patrol functions and drone demos

Open to residents 18+ and those who work for Warrenville businesses

School begins August 15. The speed limit in school zones is 20 miles per hour.

Be Alert for Students: A New School Year is Here 

Allow extra travel time, and avoid distracted driving. 

School Zones are 7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. on school days when children are present.

The speed limit is 20 m.p.h.  

Reminders: 

1. Don't use cell phones. Exceptions apply to emergency situations like calling 9-1-1.

2. Follow the crossing guard's instructions. 

3. Stop for loading and unloading school buses. Drivers are required to stop for school buses with their red lights flashing and stop arm extended. Cars on a four-lane road in the opposite direction to the loading or unloading school bus are not required to stop.

4. Don't use electronic hand-held devices unless in voice-activated or hands-free mode.

Before you dig in your garden, install a fence, or any other outdoor DIY project that involve digging, call 811.
