Police Target Speeding Drivers in July Safety Campaign

The Warrenville Police Department joins IDOT, Illinois State Police, and over 200 agencies statewide in a July campaign to reduce speeding and risky driving.

“Speed limits aren’t a suggestion – they are the law,” said Sgt. Highland.

📍 Enforcement will focus on Route 59 and Butterfield Road.

📆 Increased patrols: July 8–31.

🎯 Goal: Save lives by preventing speed-related crashes.

This effort is part of IDOT’s It’s Not a Game campaign and funded by federal highway safety grants.

Propane Tank Recycling

Did you know you can recycle your 1-lb propane cylinders at Blackwell Family Campground?

Available May–October, drop off your empty tanks at the specially labeled bin.

Why it matters:

– Prevents dangerous tanks from entering the landfill.

– Prevents stray gases from escaping.

– Every tank you recycle supports the forest preserve which is a win-win for us and the planet!

Big thanks to the DuPage County Board, Forest Preserve District of DuPage County, and Flat Can Recycling for supporting the program!

Reminder: Please Keep Your Dogs on a Leash

In Warrenville, dogs must be on a leash when in public places. This ordinance helps protect everyone—humans and pets alike.

If you see a dog off leash in a public area, please contact the Warrenville Police Department at 630-393-2131.

Leashing your dog ensures their safety from other pets, wild animals, and traffic, while also helping our community feel secure and comfortable.

And don’t forget to pick up after your dog! Cleaning up helps keep our parks, sidewalks, and green spaces clean and enjoyable for everyone.
