Candidate Packets for the 2025 General Election Now Available

* Interested in running for municipal office? The Consolidated General Election is April 1, 2025.

* Offices up for election include:

- Mayor

- City Clerk

- City Treasurer

- One Alderman from each of the four wards

* Nominating petitions must be filed at City Hall from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., beginning Tuesday, November 12 through Monday, November 18.

Brush Pickup Fall Schedule

* Brush pickup has begun! Check below for your zone. Remaining September pickup dates:

Zone 2 - Monday, September 9

Zone 3 - Monday, September 16

Zone 4 - Monday, September 23

Please observe the following guidelines for staff safety:

  • All brush must be bundled securely with twine, not wire.
  • Bundles must not exceed 50 pounds.
  • Put out pile prior to 7:00 A.M. on the day of pickup.
  • Limit to one pile of trimmed brush per address.
  • No logs, lumber, yard waste, thorns, or root-balls.
  • Pile size cannot exceed the following dimensions: 3 feet high, 8 feet wide, and 15 feet long.       
  • Branches do NOT exceed 8 inches in diameter. 
  • Branches do NOT exceed 8 feet in length.
  • All brush under 2 feet long is considered yard waste and should be placed in yard waste bags with a yard waste sticker to be picked up by the City's contracted garbage company on your designated garbage day.
  • Place cut ends extended toward the street. If piles are not prepared with all cut ends toward the road, the pile will not be picked up.
  • Brush placed in plastic bags or other containers will not be picked up by the City.
  • If the brush does not comply with these guidelines, you will be given a notice, and the pile will not be picked up.
  • Once the pile complies with the guidelines, contact the Public Works Department and the pile will be picked up.

Community Invited to 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

* WHAT: Warrenville Fire Protection District will hold their annual 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony.

* The event includes a welcome from Fire Chief Dina and remarks from Mayor Brummel, Police Chief Bonilla, and VFW Commander Morello.

* In addition, there will be a wreath laying ceremony, rifle salute, and TAPS.

* WHEN: 8:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 11.

* WHERE: Warrenville Fire Department, 3S472 Batavia Road.

Community Unit School District 200 Referendum Info

* Community Unit School District 200 needs to update three of their four middle schools: Franklin, Monroe, and Edison.  

* Learn about their plan to make those middle schools safe, efficient, and up-to-date at one of the upcoming town hall meetings:

1. Tuesday, September 10, 6:30 p.m. at Edison Middle School, 1125 Wheaton Avenue, Wheaton

2. Monday, September 16, 6:30 p.m. at Monroe Middle School, 1855 Manchester Road, Wheaton

3. Monday, September 23, 6:30 p.m. Virtual Town Hall meeting. Register at: Virtual meeting

4. Tuesday, September 24, 6:30 p.m., at Franklin Middle School, 211 E. Franklin Street, Wheaton

* The town halls are an opportunity to hear directly about the benefits of the $151.5 million referendum and how it will positively impact the students and community. After a short overview of the proposed plans, community members will be able to tour the schools.
