Special Census: We Need Your Help

* A door-to-door Special Census is happening now. 

* A Census worker will come to your door to ask a few simple questions if you did not fill out the census online.

* Or respond by calling (630) 325-6850 between 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.  

* Responding is important, easy, safe, and only takes about 10 minutes!

We're Hiring: Accountant

* This position provides exceptional service within the organization and to external customers, including promoting a positive image of the City, fostering a collaborative, respectful, and service-minded working environment, and consistently exhibiting professionalism and integrity through the community.

* Duties include:

Performing a variety of complex analytical and technical functions related to general accounting, purchasing, financial reporting, and other fiscal activities.

Calculating, verifying, posting, and balancing a variety of financial transactions.

Batavia Road Project Update

* The Batavia Road Resurfacing and Improvement Project 2024 includes driveway, sidewalk, and roadway improvements in June and July.

* The project limits are:

Batavia Road: Warrenville Road to Illinois Route 56 / Butterfield Road

Warrenville Road: Batavia Road to Warrenville Road Bridge

River Road: West side of road, just south of Warrenville Road

* Batavia Road will close for a period of time in July due to the work involved. Residents and businesses in the affected areas will receive a letter informing them of the closing at least two weeks in advance. There will be additional updates shared on the City's website, weekly e-newsletter, and Facebook page.

City Offices, Police lobby closed Thursday, July 4

* City offices and the Police Department lobby will be closed Thursday, July 4.

* Garbage collection will be delayed by one day. Thursday pickup will occur Friday, July 5. Friday's pickup will occur Saturday, July 6.

* For police assistance during closed lobby hours, please use the red telephone between the front entrance doors or dial 9-1-1 from your cell phone. Police emergency response will not be affected.

Enjoy the "Hometown Pride" Celebration July 3 & 4

* WHAT: A parade July 3, followed by food and entertainment at Cerny Park on both July 3 and 4! And don't forget the fireworks at approximately 9:30 p.m. July 4.

* WHEN/WHERE: The parade kicks off from downtown at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, heading south on Warren Avenue, west on Warrenville Road, south on Curtis Avenue, and ending at Woodland Road. All other events are at Cerny Park, 4S150 River Road.
