* We need residents to become U.S. Census Bureau workers and help Warrenville with this year's Special Census.

We're Hiring: Public Works Seasonal Workers

* DUTIES INCLUDE: Grounds maintenance, including watering, mowing, and trimming.

* Repairing and maintaining municipal streets, sidewalks, or buildings.

* Assisting with community events. 

* 40 hours per week: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

* Must be at least 18 years old with a valid IL Driver's License.

Be Ready With Wireless Emergency Alerts

* It's Severe Weather Preparedness Week.

* Keep Wireless Emergency Alerts enabled on your cell phone so you will be alerted if you’re in the path of a tornado.

* The nighttime hours are particularly dangerous because most people are sleeping, and it can be nearly impossible to see an approaching tornado.

Support Special Olympics at the Polar Plunge March 9 

* WHAT: Warrenville PD Badges and FPD Hoses will brave icy water to raise money for Special Olympics athletes.

* WHEN/WHERE: Saturday, March 9 at 11:00 a.m. City Hall parking lot off 28W701 Stafford Place.

* MORE: Immediately following the Polar Plunge, join police and fire for the after event at Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery, 28256 Diehl Road, in the upstairs bar area. The restaurant will donate 15% of food sales from that area to Special Olympics!
