Trailhead Project Continues

Current construction on the Illinois Prairie Path at Route 56 and Batavia Road will make the Gazebo ADA accessible. Additional work includes:

* installing a bike repair station and racks

* creating seating and gathering areas
* installing storm sewer and concrete sidewalk

In addition, the City is a Green Region 2022 Grant Recipient, receiving money from ComEd and Openlands to help fund the project.

Due to supply chain issues for some of the building materials, work is expected to continue into the winter months.

Hydrant Flushing Is In Progress

Hydrant flushing will occur throughout the City in October. This helps the City maintain its system and ensures it provides safe, drinkable water to the community.

During hydrant flushing, the water may appear cloudy or discolored or even contain some sediment for a short time. Opening faucets and letting the water run will help clear this up. Water is safe to drink during this time even if it looks different.
