On Friday, May 17, 2019, from 5:00 a.m. through 12:00 noon, Warrenville police officers will participate in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois Dunkin’ Cop on Rooftop fundraising event. Warrenville police officers will sit atop Dunkin’ Donuts at two different Warrenville locations this year: 28W125 Warrenville Road and 2S721 IL Route 59, in hopes to heighten awareness and raise money for these athletes.

Everyone who makes a donation at the event will receive a coupon for a free donut. 2019 Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois designed t-shirts, baseball caps and lapel pins are available at the Police Department during regular lobby hours. All proceeds from this event benefit the athletes of Special Olympics Illinois (SOILL)!

The Law Enforcement Torch Run is the single largest year-round fundraising movement benefiting SOILL, a not-for-profit organization that offers year-round training and competition in sports for athletes with intellectual disabilities. The organization also reaches out to Young Athletes between the ages of two and seven, with or without intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics Illinois does not charge athletes or their families to participate in the program.

Special Olympics Oath: “Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.”
