UPDATE: The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has post-poned the nationwide test of the emergency alerting systems until October 3, 2018. The delay is due to ongoing response efforts to Hurricane Florence. Additional information is available using the Updated FEMA Press Release link provided below.


On Thursday, September 20, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will be conducting nationwide alert tests for the Presidential Wireless and Emergency Alert systems. The order of the planned tests are as follows: “Presidential Alert, THIS IS A TEST...” message to compatible cellular phones at 1:18 p.m. (Central Standard Time), then followed by a monthly test siren at 1:20 p.m. Please share this information with family, neighbors, and friends as this may be the first time they have received a test message.
