Project Description:
Special Use Permit to allow NuMed Partners LLC to remodel a former bank building and operate a State-registered adult use recreational and medical cannabis dispensary in the B-4 Motorist Service District per Table 3A of the Warrenville Zoning Ordinance. This request was approved on September 8, 2020 and was last granted an extension request through and including September 9, 2023 at the September 6, 2022 City Council  meeting via Ordinance O2022-34.

Project Status: 
State license is on hold due to a court ruling prohibiting the issuance of new licenses.  State has indicated it can issue a new license to qualifying applicants as soon as the court lifts the ban.  

Project Background: 
Formal public hearings were conducted on July 23, 2020 and August 20, 2020 before the Plan Commission/Zoning Board of Appeals (PC/ZBA), in accordance with the Illinois Governor’s orders and guidelines. The City Council accepted the Plan Commission's recommendation at its September 8, 2020, meeting, and passed Ordinance O2020-32 (PDF). At its July 6, 2021 meeting, the City Council granted a 12-month extension of the Special Use Permit approval via Ordinance O2021-28.   At its September 6, 2022 meeting, the City Council granted a second extension request and extended the approvals for the property through and including September 9, 2023, which extension is subject to, and contingent upon, the same terms and conditions set forth in Ordinance No. O2020-32.
