Snow Removal Priorities

In response to recent questions, the following information is provided about the City’s snow and ice removal priorities (listed in order of priority):

1) Clear main City roadways first

2) Clear side streets
3) Clear cul-de-sacs
4) Clear school crossings near the schools

Recreational paths are not typically cleared of snow because the City does not have the resources to do so. However, Public Works personnel have been removing snow on specific paths this past week to assess the amount of time and resources needed, and to determine if this service can be offered in the future.

The City does not clear snow from sidewalks except around City buildings. Many residents pitch in after large snow events to help keep sidewalks clear of snow and ice for children, elderly residents, and all pedestrians. We hope that our citizens will continue with that same spirit!

Questions about City snow removal priorities may be directed to Management Analyst Justyn Miller at jmiller@warrenville.il.us or by calling (630) 836-3056.
