Mayor Brummel and Elected Officials Attend DCVB Event

Eat and Meet - Main Event

In celebration of National Travel & Tourism Week, the DuPage Convention & Visitors Bureau invited City officials and staff to an Eat and Meet event featuring some of the area’s finest food and attractions, including Warrenville’s Main Event Entertainment, Two Brothers Brewing Company, and Eddie Merlot’s. The event also gave attendees an opportunity to meet special guest, the newly appointed Director of the Illinois Office of Tourism, Cory Jobe.

The event was held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, in the picturesque Ginkgo Room in the Visitors Center at The Morton Arboretum. Mayor Brummel, City Clerk Larson, and Aldermen Goodman, Hoffmann, and Wilson attended as well as some City staff. The event gave three Warrenville businesses exposure to the event planning market. It was also an opportunity for Mayor Brummel to connect with those businesses and help promote them.

The DuPage Convention & Visitors Bureau (DCVB) is a not-for-profit partner-based organization that was established through the efforts of a coalition of DuPage area hotel executives and business representatives in 1987. It was formally certified in 1989 by the State of Illinois as the official agency to promote the county's multi-billion dollar tourism industry and market DuPage County as a destination for visitors and conventions, and to help drive economic development. All of Warrenville’s hotels are members of the DCVB and Mayor Brummel sits on its board of directors.
