Police 2018 Bike Safety Event with Traffic Safety Initiative

Saturday, May 19

The Police Department is pleased to announce the 2018 Bicycle Safety Event held in conjunction with the Pedestrian Advisory Commission/Park District Bike Rodeo. In addition to all regular Bike Rodeo activities, police will be available to register your bike, answer your bike riding law questions, and hand out children's bike safety giveaways and educational materials. A traffic safety initiative is being conducted simultaneously to bring awareness to bicyclist and pedestrian safety throughout the IL RT 59 roadway between the areas of IL RT 56 and Batavia Road. Police will focus on driving infractions that could potentially create, lead up to, or result in a hazard for pedestrians and cyclists.
